Doubt-from stealthsim to software unlock

Hi guys,

I own a out of the box 1.1.2 iphone and i jailbreaked it and used it with a "stealthsim". everything was working fine until now. I think the stealthsim died or something like that and i dont know how to unlock it

Whats the best option for a software unlock? i just dont want to screw my iphone by unlocking it and then when i will want to upgrade it wont work

what are the methods available? and which one is the best?
