I recently installed 10.5.5, and it caused some driver problems with some of the games I play, so I wanted to downdate back to 10.5.4. Is there an easy way to do this, or am I going to have to wipe the HD and reinstall from my backup from like 3 weeks ago, or something else drastic?

Get out the Original Discs

Archive and install. Find the 10.5.4 combo updater from Apple's website, download and install.

It appears that this isn't an option in your case, but for future reference.

Since it is relatively easy to do, you should run a Time Machine backup before doing such updates. That way you can format / install (after checking the backup for issues) and restore from Time Machine backups. Just did it the other day for an issue I was having after installing a new Superdrive.
