Is there a way of downgrading from 4.0 to 3.1.3? I was stupid and I updated to 4.0 without even thinking. I tried everything in my knowledge, putting my iPhone in DFU then restoring, restoring to 3.1.3, none of them worked. This is on a 3gs by the way, thanks.

I believe it's not possible since the baseband was updated.

It's definitely possible as I just did it last night on 3GS (so long as you have SHSH on file with Cydia or saved) - I had to first downgrade to iTunes 9.1 which was a pain, but then just select the 3.1.3 ipsw for restore and use Tinyumbrella - if you get in the recovery loop with 1015 errors like I did, just use iRecovery and you are back on 3.1.3 with baseband 05.13.04. I then just ran Spirit again to Jailbreak, and then used Ultrasn0w to unlock (although I haven't tried it on another carrier, but it seemed to work fine).
