So, I just reloaded my iPad 3 and copied all my old loops from my iMac to the iPad using iTunes.

I was all ready to fire up a music making session while my wife was busy, but I couldn't fine the "loop" icon in the top right of garageband. I thought, hmm.. ok, maybe I didn't copy them over right. I watched a few videos on youtube, and everything looks good on that end.

I do some more poking around, and apparently Apple, once again, gives people with a little older hardware the finger. With the latest update of Garageband of IOS (2.1 I think it was?) you now need an A6 or better processor to use their new "live looping" feature.

Seriously? I don't really care about all the fancy new features of "live looping"... I was able to do simple "drag and drop" with loops on my iPad 2. That's all I really want it for. Is there any way I can "downgrade" to the old version of Garageband?

Thanks for any info.

This is the interface I want to get back:

Ok so after a little more reading, "Track View" is still there.

I had to actually record something using the piano (or any touch instrument), and then the button for track view appeared. From there the loops icon shows up and displays all my loops.

Back in business... hope this can help someone else who has the same problem! :)
