So i was successful at downgrading my iphone 3g from 4.1 to 3.1.2 unlocked. Memory is around 40mb free but when using mail, web and ipod plus phone i end up with 10 or less...starts to lag..etc.

I'm wondering it its possible to downgrade to ios 2.2.1 with baseband 6.15.00 so i can unlock it with cydia? i know i'll be missing out on a ton of apps but the performance increase might be worth it.

any thoughts on if this would even be possible?

thank you

Yes, but you have to go the other way. You need to have IOS 4.1 or 4.2.1 into your phone first, then use Redsn0w to upgrade your Iphone baseband to 06.15. The reason for this is because Redsn0w 0.9.6b6 will not recognise IOS below 4.1.

Once you've done that, your phone has this Ipad baseband so ultrasn0w can unlock it once you jailbreak with lower IOS. you then downgrade your phone to lower IOS.

I think you should downgrade to 3.1.3 only which is best for Iphone 3G to operate. This is in my opinion only.

I second that. 3.1.3 would be the best or most apps won't run on ur phone...

Would this actually work? Wouldn't the downgrade remove ultrasn0w? Could I install ultrasn0w after downgrading to 2.2.1?
