Downgrade to 6.1.3 before upgrade to GM?

I am hearing unconfirmed reports that Apple are recommending downgrading to 6.1.3 before upgrading to the GM rather than upgrading direct from beta 6. Can anyone confirm (or deny!) this?

Updating to the gold master and then resetting all settings should have the same affect that restore to iOS 6.1.3 would. I think you're safe.

You don't "HAVE" to per say, but I would recommend it just in case. That way all the bugginess of the previous beta will be gone.

Back up your data through iTunes, downgrade. Upgrade to the GM and restore your backup
