Has anyone downgraded to Sewuoia on a new MBP that shipped with Tahoe? I assume you’d need a full DFU restore with an IPSW file.

Usually a new mac will not run on any macOS earlier than the one it shipped with. Since Tahoe is only just released. It might just be that yours was manufactured with Sequoia, so even if delivered with Tahoe it might run Sequoia. Think you would have to try, but I wouldn’t be hopeful.

Yes it would need a DFU restore to replace the Tahoe firmware, but firmware is backward compatible so you might be able to run Sequioa by installing it with a bootable Sequoia USB keeping Tahoe firmware.

Unless there is a specific piece of must-have software not working I would persist with Tahoe…it is fine for me and I like it.
