I'm trying to downgrade from iOS 8.1.2 to iOS 8 and when I plug in my iphone I press and hold the option button and click on restore iphone which gives me an option on what to restore it to and when i open the file itunes eventually says this.

"This device isn't eligible for the request built"

I am dealing with a iffy copy of iOS8 (downloaded), maybe that could possibly be it?

There is currently no known way to downgrade iOS on any current device. You'll need to restore to the latest version.

I've heard that but I wasn't sure. I'm trying to jailbreak my old iphone 4s, since I switched carriers. I want it as bad up phone but I accidentally updated it to ios 8.1.2 and I cant find anyway to jail break the newest ios.
