Downgraded image quality when forwarding pics from Android

So when I take pics with my S7 Edge in high quality and email them to our Macmail to forward to others, the quality gets severely downgraded and pics turn out very grainy. I have done some reading and can't figure out how to avoid this issue.

Any help? Using a Macbook Pro, Sierra.
