Downgraded iTunes to 10.7 -- now my devices won't sync??

So I downgraded my iTunes 11.1 recently to my preferred version 10.7 after also downgrading my phone back to iOS 6. However, now none of my iPods will are recognized by iTunes. Even after a full restore on my iPod Touch 4G, iTunes recognizes it now but won't load any music or podcasts onto it. No errors given, just can't manually add or sync anything.

Whenever I boot up iTunes 10.7 now, I also get the message: "An unknown error has occurred -42408." Any idea why this is? I can tell my computer (running OSX Mountain Lion) is not happy I downgraded my iTunes software and it's affecting my devices.

I really don't want to go back to iTunes 11, but I may have to now. :(

I don't want to go to iTunes 11 either - this is why I have NOT "upgraded" to iOS 7.

As for your difficulties above, it's just Apple making it very hard for anyone to roll back...no surprises here.
