On my 2015 13" rMBP High Sierra has been miserable. Just a few things: won't upgrade to the supplemental upgrade, all my desktop icons including the hard drive are gone and nothing I have tried brings them back, App store says updates are available then after downloading nothing happens and the app store says no updates are available, recents vs all my files, every time my machine boots different startup items may, or may not be started. That's just for starters.

I have never had this much trouble with a new OS and that has been since OSX first came out. Your mileage may differ. So, I am currently doing an internet restore and will start at El Cap and go no further than Sierra.

PS the exact same things are happening to my 2011 Mac mini on High Sierra.

At least yours still boots, High Sierra nearly bricked my entire 2012 iMac... I guess they really were high when they made this one. By some miracle I got it to install properly in recovery mode and now my system is hanging all the time, copy/pasting is.... okay, I'll give it that, its fast as hell but for the meat and potatoes this update is teh s uck. It's gonna be the last OS I update this machine to, I'm not turning this into a $1,400 dollar paperweight just to be modern.
