Hi all this is my first post on this forum. I got an iphone 4 second hand and it had ios 7 installed. I don't dislike ios 7.0.6 but I can't unlock even if I jailbreak it and install ultrasnow or SAM. I think the baseband is to high, but I could be wrong.
I do travel for my job and I need an iphone that I can travel with and change the sim card as needed. I am almost certain that I can't downgrade the phone back to ios 6.1.3 because I don't have the SHSH blobs. Are the only routes availible to me.. 1. Jailbrake and get a Gevey sim card? 2. Contact the provider that the phone was locked to and see if they can unlock it for me? I would prefer a software unlock that I can do myself.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Even if you could downgrade the firmware on your iPhone 4, you cannot change the baseband.

Thus - no software unlock is possible.

Get the selling carrier to unlock it or pay for an aftermarket IMEI unlock (might be expensive)

You should have done this research BEFORE buying a phone you cannot software unlock.
