Downgrading my iPhone 4

I got given these instructions to downgrade my Iphone4 to 4.0.1 http://m.lifehacker.com/5572003/how-to-downgrade-your-iphone-3g-from-ios-4-to-ios-313 however, I cannot see here if I will lose all my data currently on the phone?

Does anyone know if I move from 4.0.2 back to 4.0.1 if my data will remain in place if I restore from back-up as it doesn't say on the directions.
