Downgrading new hardware to Lion

Hello mateypeeps!

Has anyone worked out how to downgrade a machine that came with ML to Lion? Internet recover only allows the me to reinstall ML and some recent updates have stopped my USB Lion installers from working. In fact, I have Lion installed on a USB stick and that can't be used to boot any more!

I need to do this because some of my apps are not compatible with ML.

You should know very well that you cannot boot an OS that is older than the one that shipped with your Mac. Which applications are incompatible with Mountain Lion?

You should be able to run Lion inside a Virtualbox. Will that solve your problem?
