Part one to this thread is here

So i was looking to sell my MBP (my only computer) for a Mac Mini to be used as my main computer and HTPC. I also need portability so i will be looking for something around $500 or less. Would you folks suggest an iPad, an old (2006-2007) Macbook, or a hackintoch netbook?

I am not quite sure why you just wouldn't keep your current computer?

Specification-wise the newest Mac Mini and the 2009 MacBook Pro 13" are very much alike.

Only by keeping your current computer, you would still be able to be portable and get some decent work done.

I would just install Plex or some other media solution on it for a HTPC and connect it straight to the TV, easy as that.

I would hate to constantly connect and disconnect my MBP.

The problem I have with Plex is that it can not play my DRM iTunes content. If they could do this, I would install it in a heartbeat as Front Row simply sucks.
