downgrading

Hi. I've moved from tiger to snow leopard but I must go to leopard so I can use my ableton live 6 program. (Don't ask... long story)
What is the best way to do this. I don't mind step by step instructions. I've been pulling my hair out because I don't want to make another mistake when I don't have to.
When I put in my leopard disk it gets rejected even when I hold down the C key as instructed.

Are you using a retail Leopard DVD? If you are, then the problem may be a dirty disc (which is easy to fix), a dirty optical drive (slightly harder to fix, but still fixable), a scratched disc (replace the disc), or something else I haven't thought of. On the other hand, if you're trying to use a machine-specific (gray) DVD for a machine other than your exact model, it won't work.
