Does anyone know where the app could have left files for this to still be there?

On your HD, Library > Contextual Menu Items ...

Is it in there? If so, delete it.

Library/Internet Plug-Ins/FolxNetscapePlugIn.plugin
~User/Library/Application Support/Eltima Software/Folx
~User/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/FolxNetscapePlugIn.plugin
~User/Library/Preferences/com.eltima.Folx.plist

deleted those but i can still see 'download all with folx' in right click menu.

@rjs

tried looking in those folder and there is nothing associate with folx.

^^there are two Contextual Menu Items folders. Remember to look in your home folder too.

aaand if I was just a little bit more awake I would have noticed that you've already been looking around in your home folder. my bad.

edit. according to this webpage http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/os-x-operating-system/150610-can-not-download-anything.html -- all you have to do is remove the plugins from the Internet Plug-ins folder in both the user and root Library and then restart your browser.

If that does not help then I'm stomped.

edit again.. I just took a look through the Resources folder of the Folx application and I noticed a thing called FolxIM.plugin. Try looking for that in your Macintosh HD/Library/Input Managers/ folder. I'm not entirely sure that this is what keeps the Folx plugin alive, but it looks just like it might be an Input Manager. After removing it you should logout in order for the system to get rid of it.

allan,

your solution works, i've deleted the file in InputManagers folder. thank you so much.

Nope... Doesn't work for me. I use Opera, deleted all files that are mentioned here, but still I have "download with folx" in my context menu.

If you no longer have Folx in your system, please, delete the following components manually as well:

Library/Internet Plug-Ins/FolxNetscapePlugIn.plugin
~User/Library/Application Support/Eltima Software/Folx
~User/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/FolxNetscapePlugIn.plugin
~User/Library/Preferences/com.eltima.Folx.plist
Library/InputManagers/FolxIM

If you're using Mac OS 10.6, please, also delete the below components:

~/Library/ScriptingAdditions/FolxScriptAddition.osax
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.eltima.Folx.Agent.plist

Apologies for bumping this thread from the grave but I recently downloaded this app to use because Speedownloader has discontinued and seems the developers of Folx bought them out to shoehorn their product in their absence, but I digress.

Some of the features kind of seem convoluted. During 2-8AM I have bandwidth free download so I queue tasks during the day and this works fine, but on some nights I am up, I will queue up tasks during that period but those files will not download and will only wait until the next period, i.e tomorrow night or I can manually set them to download immediately. Seems kind of unintuitive.

My other quip is I cannot find where I can clear the download history in this app.

Running latest version 1: Build 1.0.591.456

Thanks
