i have a long list of things in my download bar and i am not sure if they have all been downloaded. i was wondering if there was a way to check the documents that are on my computer compared to the list of documents in my download bar?

I assume you talk about Safari (you don't give much information to go on), so click the Show in Finder icon and see if the document opens.

If they still have the suffix .download behind them while in Finder, or the progress bar is not complete in the Downloads window, they are not complete.

You can also go into Finder and go to Downloads and look at the icons, which will have partially filled blue showing they're not done.
