You can't download an app from anywhere but the app store. The link will take you directly to the app store to download. Sometimes the app store takes a while to load the app information and buttons tho. You just have to wait for it to load otherwise search it yourself.

No not speaking of an app...If someone sends you a link to a file or anything through a link from drop box, it will not download in safari once you hit download

Of course not, Safari cannot do this. If can be "opened in" certain apps only.

Then perhaps the solution to your issue is to either (a) get the Dropbox app or (b) go back to Android

Unfortunately that's not either of my options. One I have the app and that still doesn't resolve the issue when someone sends a link I open it in safari see the file but can't do **** with it..but thanks for your help?

You can open it in Dropbox (or other depending on the file) and use it from there. Don't see what the issue is.

Ok. Cheat sheet. If someone sends you a link from drop box in a email sms etc. you hit the link your browser pops open and then your previewing the file video etc. you have an option to do direct download or download to your drop box. The direct download option does not work n nor does your app have anything to do with this file as being automatically opened to deal with the link

Direct download won't work. You'll have to save to your dropbox then go to the dropbox app.

Android has a file manager right? It would download the file to your file manager.

See what Apple does is download the file then let you open it up in other apps or do nothing with it.

It's possible theres some glitch with Dropbox that doesn't let the file download. If nothing happens when you click the button that might be Dropbox because iOS should download the file but not store it, then let you open it in another app.
