I'm heading to another country for a holiday, and would like to download the Google Maps region of the area I'm going to be staying in. Is this possible? If so, can I use the GPS to locate me and use it as a navigation tool?

I'm heading to Cyprus, and TomTom etc don't have maps there (only main roads).

Found oMaps.

Uses http://www.openstreetmap.org/ maps, they are no where near as good as Google Maps, but it has the main roads there, and in comparison to Google Maps, there isn't a lot missing - so sufficient enough to navigate around on holiday!

The reviews of that app are quite negative, but I checked out openstreetmap.org map's of areas I know and they seem alright.
