Download status on dock?

I recently did something that deleted my download status on my dock.
How can I get back my downloads status on my dock!?

Usually when you download something, an icon on the dock appears and shows the percentage. Now it's gone because I dragged it to the trash

What browser are you using? I've never seen such a status on the dock. Are you sure it's not an option in your browser? Or some download accelerator program you installed?

Are you referring to the Downloads stack (in Leopard) that displays the icon of the item being downloaded, with a progress bar on the icon showing how much of it has been downloaded?

If so, just go to your home folder, and drag the "Downloads" folder back onto the dock where it used to be.

not exactly the percentage, but it shows that theres actually a file downloading. now it doesnt say nothing

I'm using leopard.
