Always wanted to be able to do this, the only downside is you must be jailbroken. This opens the way for a lot more interesting creations though.

Very true, for me, you, and most other people on macrumors...but there is still a large population who considers it too risky...

Also works for videos you sync from iTunes. Harder to find, since they have weird filenames, but... now I can use iMovie the way I hoped to. Well, actually I prefer ReelDirector, but still..
