iOS Downloadable content and syncronization

Hello

I was just getting into programming for the iphone and have a simple app idea, mostly for my own use and for practice. I would like to make a lyric app, preferably with youtube/spotify links. I have access to a server and would like to be able to download additional lyrics from there and if possible sync parts of the app with information on the server, update it if you will.

Would this be difficult to program?
