Is there an option to turn off audio files loading into iTunes and playing automatically?? There is a website I view where I listen to their daily audio podcast. It used to be that when I would click "play" it would play within Safari on a blank page with the Quicktime audio controls present. Now they changed it so that the file downloads to my Mac which then automatically loads into iTunes and begins to play. Which means it duplicates the file and puts it into my iTunes folder. I don't want that. Even if the file downloads to my Mac (cause it has to load either way) I want to play it manually at my leisure in Quicktime and then simply delete the file when I'm done.

Maybe try going to the Safari "General" Preferences and deselecting "Open "safe" files after downloading"

Or, right click on the link, use "Save As" to save to your desktop or wherever, then play in VLC or whatever.

If you provide a link to the page it would be easier.
