Downloaded files..saved where?

My friend has iPhone that has a " download" app, that when he downloads zip files it saves them within that app. I don't have a " downloads" app on my ipad2 so I cannot find the files anywhere? Help?

Yeah, because you can't save them without a special app, or jailbreak tweak!!!

What's the app? His phone is not jail broken and he has a download app? I need to ask him
