Downloaded iPad Apps Syncing to iPhone

I hope this is the right section for this question but here goes! Every time I download an iPad app like a game for example to my iPad it automatically shows up and starts downloading on my iPhone. I've done research and tried un-checking "automatically sync new apps" on both my iPad and iPhone but to no avail Does anyone know what to do ?

P.S. both my iPhone and iPad are connected to my home wifi network

Automatic Downloads

Enter settings on iphone
goto iTunes & App Stores
Turn Off All Automatic Downloads or just the one you want ie Apps, Music and Books
