""Insidious" was not copied to the iPod "iPod Touch" because it cannot be played on this iPod." That is the exact error message that comes up when I try to drag the movie from the iTunes library into my iPod touch 8 GB 3rd Generation. The file itself is mp4. I thought mp4 was the video file type supported by the iPod touch.
My Version: 4.2.1 (8C148)
Model: MC086LL
I've took a few minutes to do some research on iPod touch video specs on Apple's website under TV and Video:
http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/specs.html

I tried searching a solution to this problem on this forum but could not find one. When I right click on the mp4 video file in the iTunes Library, there is no option to "convert selection for playback on iPod/iPhone." Instead I clicked Get Info and it tells me the video's specs:
Kind: MPEG-4 video file
Bit Rate: 51 kbps
Profile: Low Complexity
Channels: Stereo
Encoded with: Lavf52.64.2
total Bit Rate: 917 kbps
Video Dimensions: 880x476
Video Codec: H.264

I've compared the two specs and I can't tell ***** from *****. Can you see anything different?
*sigh* Do I need to download some sort of (*free please*) software to adjust the video specs to play on the iPod touch? If yes what is the name and please tell me the steps if you are experienced in converting these vids. Thanks so much for ur time.:)
:apple::mad:

nvm figured it out myself...

I think there is somewhere in iTunes that allows you to convert a video into iPhone/iPod touch format. I think you select the video, right click and click Convert to iPhone or something. If not it's probably under Tools. I remember it being there once... :)

just click Advanced option on Itunes, under that option there is "create an Ipod or Iphone version and just click it wait until it finishes and poof! it's playing now!.....:)
