Hi Everyone:

I need one of you super smart computer people to help me. I have a CD of my recent spinal MRI which I am able to view using Osirix. However, I do not know how to transfer/download/upload? – not sure of the terminology here - to my desktop. Can this be done? Or do I just have to look at it from the CD?

My ultimate goal is to transfer these images to a file sharing site like 4shared or Google docs so that I can send these MRI images to different doctors. However, I can't figure out how to transfer the images on the CD to one of these sites. Do I have to download it to the desktop first?

Thanks in advance for any help. I have a specialized medical condition and it's the new thing to send your image to various specialists via a file sharing site instead of going to the doc in person as the docs are all over the world.

Thanks! You computer people rock!

Just drag the MRI files from your CD to your desktop first.

After that, upload it to Google Docs, Dropbox, OneDrive, or whichever cloud service you prefer and once it's uploaded, share the link with them.

This can get complicated.

The files on the cd are in DICOM format. You need to find out what the docs want you to upload to the file sharing site.

It is further complicated by the fact that the MRI images may be in multiple folders based on the series, T weighting, etc, that were created on the MRI scanner.

Regardless, it makes sense to make a copy of the cd on our computer. Create a folder and then copy the files from the cd into it. Then I would ask the docs what they want. You may need to take a snapshot of the directory structure with the Grab application on your mac and send it to them do they can inform you what files they want.
