Hello all,

I've noticed this a while ago but never thought to ask on a forum what to do.

Whenever I download a file on Safari, it will download the file fine but then move to a blank page/tab. Before, whenever I downloaded a file using Safari, it would just download the file and remain on the page.

How do I stop Safari from automatically taking me to a new page/tab each time? For example, I'll download something on my Google Drive but after each download, it will take me away from my Google Drive tab and move to a blank tab on Safari.

Thanks in advance~

It just happens.
Nothing you can do about it.
Just close the blank window if you need to.

I don't remember it happening before. I checked Safari settings but can't find anywhere as to why it would do this. If this is the default action, then I may begin using a different browser...

It's not the default setting. What you're describing does not happen here with Safari downloads. Check your Safari preference item under "General", "Remove download list items". I have mine set to one day. If you have it set to remove when download completes, that may cause Safari to go to a blank page. I can't think of anything else that may cause it except maybe an extension to Safari that you have loaded.
