Downloading Files?

Just switched from a pc to a mac. When i download a file from the internet how can a save a file to a specific folder and change the name (instead of it in the download folder rename it and then moving it ) . With a PC it wouldn't go straight to the download folder it would ask me where i wanted to save it at and give the option to change the name (this is what i want) I"m using safari Thanx a bunch

Have you checked the settings in the browser? For example in Safari or FireFox?

In Safari go to Prefs > General > and the Save downloaded files to...

I have mine go to the desktop.

Or right click (Hold down control as you click) and select "Download linked file as..." and select a specific folder.
