downloading free music

i searched these forums for info on kazaa and other methods of swapping music, and i am now kind of confused. i don't have vpc, so i'm guessing kazaa is out? i am not the most tech-savvy individual out there either, so i was wondering what are my options for easy to use, free (or inexpensive), music swapping/ downloading? i don't know if it matters, but i have osx.2 and i use chimera 0.6.... thx for any help... double thx for any help in layman's terms

The app most like Kazaa is LimeWire, but it has a much more limited selection. There are other methods out there such as Kazaa on VPC, Direct Connect if you like looking through multiple servers, and Hotline if you like "donations".

Limewire is good if you have a fast mac. It is in Java so it can be verrrryy slow at times. I think it is better that you get an app called acquisition. You can get it from http://www.xlife.org
