Downloading Help

Alright, as most of you know, I am a MAC n00bie.

When I try to download a .DMG file, it just opens in a new browser. I find it annoying I can't download applications. I have tried Safari, Chrome and Firefox. Certain applications download normally (download maanger for the browser) and some just open up in a new window.

It sucks. When this happens, I have to make an a href link in textedit and save it as html and right click > save as.

Any input?

You're probably just downloading the dmg to a folder other than the Desktop.

When you find a link to a .dmg file, right-click it and select "Download linked file"

Sometimes, right clicking does work. Some don't. I will give you an example.

When I try download NTFS 3G, it just opens in a new window. When I right click save, it tries to save the .html file instead of the actual .dmg file.
