Downloading in sleep mode

Hi, I just got a new macbook few days ago
Im using it to download stuff with transmission when Im not using it. I was wondering does it still downloads while the machines is in sleep mode?

No. Sleep shuts things like that down, no activity at all.

Unpossible. If you want to download without the screen, turn off the screen.

In stock configuration it's not possible.

What I do is run a program called insomniax. I have turn off the monitor and prevent sleep so I can close the lid and let it keep running tasks like torrent downloads and video conversions.
