Hi all, So like most users I downloaded my copy of lion as soon as it way available on the app store.

Anyways I happened to see people are already putting up the lion installer on 'Torrent" sites for download.

Can people just go ahead and download lion from the torrent site and not run into any problem with installing it? I know ios apps and mac apps need the license to your account but I dont know about the operating system since snow leopard didn't need any kind of 'Proof of purchase".

Just curious as it does suck people are just getting the OS for free while us legit users payed for our copies.

Thanks for the help

Lion doesn't have any DRM, so yes.

The only thing you won't be able to do is redownload lion via the Recovery Partition, as it asks for your ID.

Thanks for your quick reply. Dang that kinda sucks that we kinda get screwed since theres probably a ton of users that are getting it for free.
