Downloading media

Every time I find media on the internet so far on my new Mac, (recent switcher, by the way) it opens in a little Quicktime box in the browser. Videos, music samplers, whatever it might be, everything I've run across has opened it instead of downloading. I've tried it in Camino, Safari, and Bon Echo, an optimized build of Firefox. Every one gives me the QT box. Any way to fix this?
