I do not know about y'all, but when I travel I often go to more remote locations where I can enjoy nature. Thus, I often do not have the internet to stream from Netflix, Amazon, HBO, etc reliably.

At the same time, I do not have the DVD/Blueray collection that I once had.

I think it would be amazing if we could put the 64GB of Apple TV storage to work by letting users download Netflix, Hulu, and HBO shows/movies at their house, and then travel with the Apple TV and be able to stream those movies offline.

Currently, we travel with our tiny Roku stick. It is not the best for usability. We would switch to ATV overnight if offline viewing was a possibility.

I would be just as happy if I could do this on my Mac, and I suspect with M1 that will be a reality on the coming Netflix and Hulu apps.

Also, if this is POSSIBLE, please let me know HOW!

Thoughts?

You can download iTunes movies to an iPad, iPhone, or MacBook for playback.

If you link your iTunes to Movies Anywhere, Google, and Vudu, these apps allow downloading for offline playback.

It is a shame we cannot even download our iTunes Movie library.
As a workaround, you could get an external drive, download the movies and shows you want at home while you have a computer, and then set up a new library that you point the Apple TV to when you are away. That may work. Since the purchases are DMR and are tied to your account, Apple TV just needs access to the internet to validate viewing.

If I am incorrect in some aspect fo this, someone please correct me.

So why did I buy the 64 GB device, only to learn I can't store iTunes movies on it?
What CAN I store on Apple TV?
