So I'm thinking about buying a touch today. I was wondering if there is some sort of hack that allows one to download MP3s (say from an MP3 blog) onto an iPod Touch via WiFi to be placed in my general mp3 library?

Just looking through the apps library on my touch. Theres an app to allow itunes to download files. I would assume this means you can choose where its stored, however dont quote me on that.

Not sure what the apps called....take a look at modmyifone.com they would be your best bet

Yeah, it is a plugin.

But you do have to be jailbroken, and you can't decide where it downloads. (goes to /var/root/Downloads - creates the directory)

You can then play those downloaded Mp3's by using SendFile, SendSong, DropCopy, or from the command line with Erica's help.

I have mine jailbroken, is there a site that lets you download MP3 for free via the touch?

As a matter of fact there is!

Check out "seeqpod," google it for the iPhone version. I forget the URL and I'm on my iPhone :).
