I desparetely need help or clarification.

I have a canon Powershot S200 and want to download pictures to my imac, which has iPhoto 1.0 (without the current update).

How do import pics? When I connect the camera (via wire) to a USB port iPhoto still says "No camera attached".

What do I do??

Please help.

Simon

downloading from S200

your camera is not yet compatible with OS X and since iPhoto only runs on OS X I think the only way out is to buy a card reader with USB connection.

they are actually very cheap so that shouldn't be a big problem.

go to PowerShot.com
they have a USB Mounter for OS 9.0-9.2
but I can't see how this may help you since iPhoto is on OS X

anyhow....have a look yourself :)

If or when your camera is compatible you may still run into this problem form time to time.
a - pull out the USB cable for a few seconds then reattach it. OR
b - turn the camera off and then turn back on. OR
c - restart the computer or log out and back in.

My camera is compatible and I still have to try one or more of these pretty often.

Thanks for your replies,

But hold on, from what your telling me then I am not able to import my pics to iPhoto??

Thats sucks...

There must be another way of doing this.

AHHHhhhhh.

Could someone comment about whether he can import his photos using Image Capture?

Ok, here is a simple question.

Does anyone know an OS-X compatable CompactFlash card reader??

Thanks

Simon

I use the SanDisk ImageMate for my CF card - plugs right ino my keyboard. Cost about $20 at Circuit City. Not sure how it does with iPhoto, as I haven't tried importing photos yet, but it works just great with Image Capture. HTH.
