downloading problem

when i try to download software, it always comes up with an error, im trying to download cubase trial, but its saying "not recognised" under the reason. it let me download the trial, but it wont let me install it, as soon as i launch it, it pops up,

Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General > Allow applications downloaded from: and select the second or third choice.

How big is the DMG file you downloaded?

Can you go to Finder and select that DMG file and press CMD+I and expand "More Info" and make a screenshot of that?

When I download the 7.5 trial from Steinberg directly, Safari says 6,2 GB to download. Since it does take a while, I cannot test it immediately.

Then it has not downloaded correctly.
Does it also happen in another, even temporarily created, user account?

Also know, that Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard is not supported by Cubase 7.5, they say, you need OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion at least.

OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and OS X 10.9 Mavericks can be purchased via the Mac App Store (MAS), which is in your Applications folder.
OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion is no longer easily available there though, you need to buy it via the Apple Online Store first and get a download link for the MAS.
OS X 10.9 Mavericks is free, but might not run on your Mac.
