Downloading Sims 3 on Mac

Hi guys I have a problem. I bought the PC only download from the Sims 3 website thinking that it would work because the PC versions were supposed to work for Mac also. Anyway, later on I realized Macs didn't support EA download manager and had to download my Sims games that I paid for on my friend's PC with the plan to just copy the game on a flash drive and transfer it to my Mac.

Is that going to work?

Do I have to install it on my friend's PC first or should I just download and copy+paste. IDK what to do. I paid $100+ for all this :(
 
If you download it on your friends PC, it will be the Windows version, and will not work for the Mac. I don't really know what you can do, you sure you can't download the Mac version online? I've seen the Mac version on the EA online store before, for download.
