Okay. I did a pretty thorough search just now.
It seems that many people want to save youtube.com videos and google videos.
Neither of these require things that aren't already on you mac, but if you want to convert or watch them, you will need some software.
in http "tt's" have been replaced with "**'s" to prevent auto linky
To keep a youtube vid:
Get address:
h**p://youtube.com/watch?v=G8WOt1OOh7w
Change to:
h**p://youtube.com/v/G8WOt1OOh7w
That's removing the "watch?" and replacing the "=" with "/"
Then press return the screen will change
Notice the address change!!!!
Get new address:
h**p://youtube.com/p.swf?video_id=G8WOt1OOh7w&eurl=&iurl=http%3A//sjl-static15.sjl.youtube.com snipped
Change "p.swf" to "get_video"
Press return and TADA! It's called "get video" but live with it, and rename it.
Google videos:
Navigate to vid:
h**p://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-9060305020185604305&q=jfk+jr.&hl=en
Click the "Download" for mac/ windows" button
STOP the google video player from downloading
Click "manually download the video"
You get some text file open it with textedit it will look crazy:
