I know this topic has come up a lot before and i even remember reading the Thread however i was just wondering what programmes you can use to download youtube videos as my friend wants to use some however they don't own a mac and so can't do that trick of changing the URL. A little help would be much appreciated! Cheers!

ummm. whats the trick to do it with a mac?
im new

one way is to open the page in Safari, in the Activity window double click on the video file once it has finished downloading on your screen.
You should end up with a file on your desktop, just drag this into isquint and convert

Not true, I do this all the time in Safari. You must hold down Option and double-click the file in the activity window to download it. Works with just about any file type.

UPDATE: I just tested Safari for Windows, and it works there too, except you hold down Ctrl instead of Option.

what "activity window"?
I thought there is a plugin for safari that will display a bluebar on the video when u hover your mice on it, and there is an option for download.

edit: nvm, found it, :D, good, its a new way again,
