Hi,
I have a small problem that didn't happen previously. As you know, when you download something on mac, a download window appears and you see the download progress. And when it's down you simply click on the file to open it, within that same window. But recently all my downloads disappear after they finish downloading and I have to go into Finder and into the downloads folder to find my file which gets a little inconvenient when downloads pile up in the folder. Does anyone know how to fix this? THANKS

If you're using Safari:

And if they're disappearing from the Downloads list, in Safari > Preferences:

Downloads Disappear

I had this issue to and hence found this answer and when I did the fix in preferences it didn't work and heres why so just wanted to share it with others just in case they have the same issue.

I was browsing in private mode, and that will cause the downloads to disappear as well, from the download pop up window.

:)

That's plainly stated on the Apple site, describing Private Browsing:
For privacy, you can choose Safari > Private Browsing. When private browsing is enabled, webpages are not added to the history, items are automatically removed from the Downloads window, information isn't saved for AutoFill (including names and passwords), cookies are not retained, cache files are not retained, and searches are not added to the pop-up menu in the Google search box.
