I have changed my Downloads folder icon, and now when I drag it to the Dock, it appears with and generic blue folder icon. Why is that?

I did the procedure like described in the article you mention, and it works, as it worked before... the icon of the Downloads folder changes. But when I drag this folder to the Dock, the new icon doesn't appears in the Dock. But it appears correctly in the original Downloads folder. That is the problem.

I just tried it and also right clicked on the Downloads folder in the Dock and selected "Display as: Folder" and got to see a changed Downloads folder icon.
