Visiting downtown here in Orlando (from Phoenix) and getting FAST 3G! 2400 Kbps. Is this normal in this area? It's almost like wifi.

I live in Orlando about 2 miles from downtown. At home I rock wifi, but turned it off and got 2400 download. However around the central Florida area I have also pulled as low as 574. As with anywhere, conditions vary.

Haven't been home since I've gotten iPhone 4, but 3G speeds in Polk County (Southwest of Orange County / East of Hillsborough County) were always blazing fast on my iPhone 3G.

Florida's awesome.

Yeah in general Orlando has very fast 3G AT&T speeds. I live in Lake Mary FL, a surburb of Orlando and speeds are consistently fast in this area. Really no complaints about AT&T here although there was a data outrage in this area last week for just the night.

During busy tourist season, after the Christmas holidays AT&T speeds can slow to a crawl around the popular tourist destinations.

But overall really no complaints about AT&T in Central Florida (Orlando area)

I do travel a lot for business and have experienced very slow 3G speeds in areas like LA, SF, Miami, DC etc.

Memphis has extremely fast 3G consistent speeds.

Notice a trend here? In big Metro areas, AT&T networks can get jammed pretty quickly but in "mid level" areas 3G speeds are very fast.

I consider Orlando a "mid level" city although there are a couple of million people living in the four county metro area.

Go to the Harry Potter World and try to make a call...everytime i tried it said call failed even though i had full service...too many iphones in one area?

No, magic.

Ahaha, that place must be a zoo. It's definitely too many phones trying to connect. Here in Gainesville on game days, my iPhone is pretty much useless for a few hours.

You got to love Miami.

Aw man...I spent March in Orlando for spring training and 3G speeds were excellent. But even better was downtown Kissimmee. I didn't bother doing an actual speed test but it looked close to the wifi speed where I was staying. Now I'm back home and 3G speed sucks. I miss Kissimmee and Orlando. :(

i am in saint cloud and i have att and verizon
well att is like 2X faster that Verizon

ATT i get 3-5 down and 1.4-1.8 up

verizon top is only 1.9 and up well only 600

Yeah I live in downtown Orlando, the speed in that area is great. At the airport tho, AT&T signal SUCKS! So not all of Orlando gets great signals.
