DP 1GHz G4s... how fast?

Okay, I've seen the benchmark reports, but let's face it: they're all bull**** in some way or another. I'm looking for some real opinions on how fast this machine actually is. Specifically, is there any lag when performing basic operations in OS X (create new folder, scroll through window, open window, etc.)? How fast does, say, Office v.X perform tasks? Is there are lag there?
