Drag & drop videos from iPhoto to external hard drive

I have a Toshiba external hard drive, and I can't drag and drop videos I've taken with my iPhone, and that are in iPhoto, to the external hard drive. Is there any external hard drive or flash drive that will allow me to do this?

Do you get an error? What format is the external drive?
Should be easy to do
