Dragging and dropping???

I got a new MBP and I am used to using a mouse with Windows. Is there a better way on the Mac Pad than clicking and holding, and then using another finger to inch my way to where I want to drag the file too? Is there somewhat that I can click and that "sticks" then I can just use my finger to drag the file around?

System Preferences > Trackpad >> One Finger >>> Tap to Click / Dragging / Drag lock
