The problem: Unable to drag files from the desktop back to the server at work.

Background: When needing to work from home, I will drag the contents of my work folder from the server to my desktop, work on the files and then try to put the files back to the server.

Question: What is the best way? Dragging? Copying and pasting?

You obviously have download permissions, if you can pull from the work server to your home unit.
Do you have permission and access to upload to the server remotely?

What happens when you put them back on the server? Do you get an error message? Do you have write access to the server?

Error code - 50 is one message I get.

I can copy files to the server no problem.

I can access the server remotely...but what i am tryign to do is simply drag from folders from my desktop to the server whilst connected directly to the server.

Another part of the problem - on some folders and not others - is that there are files which are locked and are unable to be moved (or deleted). I cannot unlock these files in the normal way...they are all old files, originally done on PC on god knows what platform.
