I just installed DNS9 on a Boot Camp partition with XP on it. I also installed VMware Fusion. This is all on a Mac Book (Core Duo w/Leopard).

Under VMware, I'm trying to get DNS9 trained but there is a problem getting the audio into Dragon. I am using the DNS headset with mic plugged into the mic jack and also have tried using the built-in mic. I can record & playback audio just fine using the Windows Sound Record applet as long as DNS isn't running. As soon as I start DNS, the audio that is captured by Sound Recorder plays back all garbled and muffled. I do not experience this conflict on a PC. Likewise, when I play back the audio captured in DNS it sounds the same... and forget about it recognizing any words.

I currently can't get any audio into the system while running XP from Boot Camp but since that isn't the intended environment, I'm not going to worry about that yet.

I've read the thread that was posted about USB mics conflicting with the line in but this is a different case b/c there is no USB mic involved. Just the same, I followed the advice given there to make sure the mic levels were cranked up and tested with the "mic booster" on and off. The audio jack works fine in OS X too so I know it's working from the Mac side.

Has anyone solved this issue? I'd like to have this as an option in addition to using a USB mic.

I have lots of experience running DNS on PCs but this is the first time trying it on a Mac.

Thanks in advance.
